To My Fellow Star Wars Geeks And Those That Wish They Were.

Hello all, just wanted to post a quick message here with a website link that I fully expect you to follow.

Awhile back I stumbled upon an interesting website, through another site I'm sure, although I cannot say for certain which one it might have been. That is neither here nor there, though, for it is the content of the interesting website that is the true thrust of this blog.

This site is officially named The Darth Side: Memoirs of a Monster. Or, rather, that is what the site is. A Star Wars fan took it upon himself to create a fictional journal of the life of Darth Vader, detailing many of his day-to-day activities between the beginning of the first Star Wars movie, A New Hope, and ending right before Darth Vader's death in Return of the Jedi.

As a Star Wars fan, these entries are a fun read, as you get to join Darth Vader in boring staff meetings, crushing various tracheas, fighting in battles, and listening to music while eating dinner in his hyperbaric chamber. For the layperson, that's where he is seen sans mask in Empire Strikes Back.

The journal is offered in both html and pdf versions and is really quite long so you might need a bathroom break, as there are at least 20 entries during the course of ESB. I also recommend a glass of lemon tea and some mixed nuts to accompany the reading. Enjoy.

Should This Concern Me?

In each elevator at work there is a small metal box within which you can find the elevator's Certificate of Registration. This is given by some sort of Labor & Liscensing Something Or Other. I just looked at it roughly thirty seconds or so ago, and I've forgotten already. Such is my short-term memory. The certificate looks like this: It really is in all of them, I just happened to be in elevator #6. Which is ironic, as there are exactly six elevators. That might not be ironic. Still, though, the position of the elevator I used would not occur to me as #6. I would see it as #3, I think. Be that as it may, on each certificate, in the lower-ish right there is an Expiration Date. We all know our car registration expires, so it seems only proper that elevator registrations would have the capacity to do so as well. Below is a picture of the Expiration Date. Back in the 80's, the years 1983 and 1984 to be specific, the youth of America was treated to the emergence of a new, cool vehicle not given it's due in years before.
